ABOUT US
The Sandhills Photography Club was started in 1983 to
provide a means of improving members' photographic skills
and technical knowledge, for the exchange of information,
and, by club activity, to develop membership potential and
public interest in the art of photography
MEETINGS
The Club meets the second Monday of each month, at 7:00
PM at Christ Fellowship Church on Midland Road at Pee Dee.
Meetings alternate between programs, competitions, and
field-trip presentations. All meetings conclude with a
social time with refreshments. Workshops and field trips
round out our activities. Guests are always welcome -
Google Directions.
The next meeting is Monday February 7th and is a Digital
Photo Competition on Moore County Scenes.
MEMBERSHIP
Our
membership is approaching 100 and we have annual rates
designed for couples, singles and students. Check out one of

NEWSLETTER
InFocus, our monthly newsletter keeps you up to date
with the club's activities. Everyone contributes and it is a
mine of information covering upcoming competitions,
workshops, exhibitions and field trips, as well as tips and
tricks, items for sales and membership news.
COMPETITIONS
Competitions are held every other month from
February to November. Given recent trends, most are digital,
but we still have a couple of print competitions every year.
COMPETITION PHOTOS
Winners, runners up, honorable mentions and other
competition photos are available to view on-line.
WORKSHOPS
We offer both paid and free workshops for our
members. From understanding and mastering Photoshop and
Photoshop Elements, using imaging presentations techniques,
picture framing to how to shoot good and creative photos
using a variety of techniques and intensive hands-on
teaching from recognized experts. You can be sure to always
be learning at SPC. |

EXHIBITIONS
Members have the opportunity to exhibit their
pictures regularly throughout the year. These run from
showing work at local galleries to placing images at local
offices and organizations in the Sandhills area. The current
exhibition of member photos is being staged by Sandhills
Community College through February 26, 2009.
FIELD TRIPS
Twice a year, In the Spring and Fall, SPC members
arrange field trips to locations within easy reach of the
Pinehurst area. This coming Spring trip is being planned for
the New Bern area at the end of April. More information will
be posted later.
LIBRARY
We have an impressive and growing library of
magazines, books and DVDs from novice to expert level. You
can order these on-line for pick up at the next scheduled
meeting.
MEMBER GALLERIES
This is a separate database driven site using
Coppermine software where members can create and maintain
galleries of their work. |
